Renaud’s
State and Arlington
By far the best pastry-maker in town, Renaud’s offers a full bistro menu on top of a wide repertoire of traditional French pastries. Sip on your espresso or fresh-squeezed orange juice and enjoy their quiche Lorraine or a smattering of macarons! Hot tip: their almond croissant is by far the best croissant in town–but you have to order one quick! They usually sell out well before noon. 🙂

Light-filled and reminiscent of a European cafe, Lilac Patisserie is a haven for those with gluten sensitivities. A completely gluten-free kitchen, Lilac serves up delicious treats including New York cheesecake, red velvet cupcakes, and sandwiches on robust wheatless bread.

Wine Bars and Tasting Rooms
Deep Sea Tasting Room
Stearns Wharf
Enjoy a stunning view of the water and Santa Barbara shoreline at Conway Family Wine’s tasting room on Stearns Wharf. It’s bit difficult to spot if you aren’t looking for it, but if you’re seeing some privacy, Deep Sea is the perfect casual retreat to get away from the summer crowds (and heat!)
Satellite
1117 State (walking distance)
A mere seven blocks from our properties, Satellite prides itself on serving the best in natural wines and farmer’s market vegetarian/vegan cuisine. They also maintain a lovely collection of vintage vermouths, if that’s your thing. A fairly new venture in town, Satellite just opened up their outdoor patio space, so you can take your spritz outside and enjoy the people-watching on State! Hot tip: order their Yoga Pants Salad–you won’t be disappointed!
Sanford Winery Tasting Room
1114 State (walking distance)
A staple of Santa Barbara County wines, Sanford brings you the best of the Santa Rita Hills, just north of the city. Enjoy their downtown tasting room in historic retail courtyard La Arcada, or drive up the coast to their mission-style winery.
